WCM LEGAL : COMMERCIAL LAW

Commercial Work

Commercial law governs business and commerce and can involve both private and public law. Corporate contracts, development projects, employment practices and other business activities all involve civil codes of some sort that must be observed and respected.

WCM LEGAL has developed an expertise in advising clients in various commercial enterprises, including transactional work involving commercial property, as well as mergers of commercial ventures.  Projects have ranged from commercial joint ventures for mid-sized businesses, both within and outside the Wairarapa, to large-scale commercial property transactions in Wellington.

In particular, our Senior Partner, Ed Cooke, has developed an expertise in advising on specialist apartment construction projects in Wellington. As Wairarapa rates are considerably lower than those of city practices, we are able to offer cost-effective solutions to technical and sometimes difficult commercial projects.

We can also help with basic requirements such as company registration, issues around company taxation, partnerships, financing arrangements and other tasks often inherent in setting up or buying a business.

With our wide range of experience as general legal practitioners, combined with our knowledge of commercial regulations and the services of specialist advisors where required, we are able to provide cost-effective solutions to many legal challenges.

For business advice, company incorporations, etc., contact Keith McClure or Mark Hinton or Ed Cooke or James Elliott
